Connection System

Precast connection hardware for joining elements bar to bar and panel to panel. Rebar couplers replace lap splices with a mechanical threaded joint for bars from Ø10 to Ø40 mm; wire loop boxes create fast, boltless shear connections between precast panels.

Choosing a connection

Rebar couplers

Rebar Coupler – Rolled Parallel Thread (peeled and cold-rolled bar ends, Ø16 to Ø40 mm), Rebar Coupler – Upset Parallel Thread (thickened bar ends that keep the full bar section at the thread, Ø12 to Ø40 mm) and the Male & Female Coupler set (Ø10 to Ø40 mm).

Wire loop boxes

The Wire Loop Box (Connector Box Loop) and the higher-capacity Double Wire Loop Box project a wire rope loop once the formwork is struck; a connecting bar is threaded through on site. Loop sizes are colour-coded: 80 mm black, 100 mm white, 120 mm blue.

Questions buyers ask

Rolled or upset parallel thread coupler?

Both make a parallel-thread mechanical splice instead of a lap splice. For the rolled type the bar end is peeled and cold-rolled before threading; for the upset type the bar end is first thickened, so the full bar cross-section is kept at the thread.

Why use a coupler instead of a lap splice?

A coupler joins two bars end to end with a threaded connection, so the bars do not need to overlap. This saves reinforcement and space in congested sections and at precast joints.
