Which precast lifting system do I need?

Threaded socket lifting system

A threaded socket is cast into the element and stays flush with the surface. To lift, a wire rope lifting loop is screwed into the socket; afterwards it is removed. Used for slabs, panels and beams, including thin slabs and double walls.

Flat lifting anchors

Flat and erection anchors are cast into the face or edge of wall and floor panels and lifted with a ring clutch. Versions with a shear plate also take lateral load when panels are tilted and braced; sandwich panel anchors suit insulated walls.

Spherical head (pin) anchor system

GPS's main lifting system: a cast-in anchor with a spherical head, lifted with a matching lifting clutch, with anchors from 1.3 to 45 tonnes. A recess former leaves the pocket the clutch needs.

Questions buyers ask

What is a recess former for?

It is fixed to the mould around the anchor head and removed after casting, leaving a clean pocket so the lifting clutch can engage. GPS supplies rubber, plastic and magnetic recess formers.

Which load capacity should I choose?

The safe load of a lifting anchor depends on the element's thickness, concrete strength, edge distance and the lifting angle, not only on the anchor. Send the element dimensions and weight with your enquiry and GPS will propose anchors and matching clutches.
